How do online Women’s Health Physiotherapy consultations work?

Your Women’s Health Physiotherapy consultation process can be completely online. This means that you can be personally assessed and diagnosed via any combination of webforms, video consultations and secure messaging.

Samara – your Women’s Health Physiotherapist – will then formulate a recovery plan specific to your needs, and convey it to your computer via written report, online video, and to your smartphone via the free PhysiTrack App.

What can I expect before my appointment?

You will be sent an online assessment form for your contact details, history and main concerns that you would like to discuss with Samara.  You will also be sent a PDF entitled “Preparing for Your Telehealth Call.”  Please read this before your consultation to ensure the sound and video on your device is working.

What can I expect in my appointment?

A detailed 1:1 discussion with Samara about your bladder & bowel habits/ symptoms, dietary intake, sexual function, past medical history and goals.  You may be asked to stand or lie down and perform some movements around the hips / pelvis / tummy muscles to demonstrate the strength or movement of these regions.

You will not be asked to remove any part of clothing, especially your undergarments, for any part of the assessment or treatment.

A tailored treatment plan may include exercises, bowel & bladder advice, dietary & lifestyle advice.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

A doctor’s referral is not required to see a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist.  If you have been referred, please email your medical reports, scans and correspondence from your health care provider to glenferriessc@me.com
